Agree with most of the previous reviewers so will probably say it again but this really is a decent retractable safety gate. The design is simple but effective and the overall look isn't too bad. In the end we are talking about being safe and not adding anything to your decor but it's nice if it goes with your stuff. We installed it in a doorway and it works great. The instructions were clear, it was very easy and quick to install it and it really does the job. The quality seems ok but don't put too much pressure on it as I think it may go if you lean with all your weight against it. I like it, had other in the past, and I would definitively recommend it.

Easy to use and very effective! The instructions were incredibly clear and easy to follow and it keeps littles safe. I used it in a door frame to be honest I would not use this gate at stairs, only because if a little one was runny or hanging off it I’m not confident it wouldnt give way.

This baby gate is perfect for stopping kids from going into the room they are meant to stay out of on play dates. You know the story: kids come over and make a mess of every room. Using this has been great for cornering off parts of the house you don't want to get messy. Yes, older kids can open it, but it is a great visual deterrent to remind them they are not allowed in places. I'd happily recommend it as it was easy to install.

Quite sturdy and mostly easy to install, the guard rail is really sturdy and will hold a small to medium-sized dog. I would say you would struggle with a large dog.

We already have a retractable gate that we use outside, behind our wrought iron gate, to prevent our miniature Dachshund puppy from sneaking under the gap at the bottom of the gate. It does a great job because we were able to fit it very close to the ground, which you can’t do with conventional baby/pet gates. I ordered this white gate so that we could install it at the bottom of the stairs and, again, it has the advantage of fitting very close to the floor. It can also be completely removed, by merely pressing a button under the top moulding, which then releases the whole gate from the wall brackets. The gate has an attractive white finish and all the metal components seem to be powder-coated instead of merely sprayed, so it will doubtless be pretty tough. The mesh is constructed from a tough and resilient plastic so I doubt that any young child or pet will make much of an impact on it, if any. I haven’t yet fitted the gate but installation looks very simple, plus the instructions are pretty comprehensive, which is a pleasant change from the confusing instructions that often come with DIY products. The manufacturer makes a specific point of saying that the included screws are essential for a successful installation, implying that self-adhesive pads should be avoided. Self -adhesive pads were indeed provided with our outside gate but I used screws for the outside installation since this type of gate will have to endure quite a bit of wear and tear, and I can’t honestly see self-adhesive pads working well for very long. Our outside retractable gate works very well, and it has stood up to quite a bit of winter punishment. However, I would say that this white Lexixi ibau is even better quality than our other gate, and it certainly has more safety features. One extra safety feature of this Lexixi ibau gate is that it can be locked from the top of the gate so that an adventurous toddler can’t accidentally open or close it. I was very impressed by this feature since the springs on retractable gates are quite strong so any accidental opening/closing could well involve other more serious risks; it’s a really nice touch, and one that isn’t provided on our other retractable gate. For me, however, the most important safety feature of this gate is that it doesn’t require the bottom rail that conventional gates use so the trip hazard is completely removed. When our kids were small, I lost count of the number of times that someone tripped over the bottom rail of the ‘safety’ gate. Fortunately, it was never serious; but it easily could have been, so the omission of the dangerous bottom rail is very welcome indeed. This attractive Lexixi ibau gate will fit well into any home and will keep your babies and pets safe. At £31.99, it is competitively priced and is cheaper than many gates that don’t have as many safety features.

Comes well packaged, with full instructions on how to assemble and install. The gate isn't too heavy so i managed to put it up myself, and i like the fact that when not in use it doesn't stick out like the metal versions do. When it rolls closed you hardly notice its there. The netting is nice and soft so if your little one does come into contact with it it's not going to irritate or scratch their skin. Great idea, any new parent would be happy to receive it as a gift as it is something they will inevitably need for a while once the baby starts becoming mobile, and the neutral colorways will fit in with most decor.
