The gate says that there is no drilling, I have had to drill my walls to keep the gate in place, and they have come with stickers that don’t do anything, and as I have done this, the handles don’t stay on the hooks to keep the gate closed! Pointless product

This is a really good gate and I love the non trip aspect. The down side is that the fittings have to be drilled in for the gate to operate and it is very difficult to get the fittings in the right place using the given instructions. I have 2 redundant screw holes because I could not get the top and bottom to coordinate and I gave up on the opening side. I wish I had thought of this before I started because the most sensible thing would be a template showing the positions of top and bottom screws. Then if the top fitting is not exact, at least you can then see where the bottom fitting should go in relation to the top. So if you do buy this gate, make yourself a template and then you will get a tidy gate.

This gate was quite versatile in dealing with much wider gaps than most, but there are some issues with the kit. Firstly I wouldnt rely on on the sticking pads for fixing to a wall - they really are not robust enough and whilst they may be strong enough to hold the gate up, they cannot withstand those times when a pet or child is pushing at the gate and trying to get through. So it is generally necessary to fix this with screws in the wall, and once installed it is much stronger. The really neat feature of this gate is that it retracts away completely, so you dont have a gate sticking out when opened that you need to try and get round when it blocks a hallway or corridor - this makes it a great design for some spaces. These gates are quite pricey, but with the variable length, wide space coverge, and retracting capability they may be worth it for your situation.

Fitted this to stop our 1 year old heading into the gym and store room for our garden room. We used the sticky fitting rather than drilling and although I was nervous of how strong they would be, 4 weeks on they are great. It has smooth retraction, looks neat and only took 10 mins to install. Would recommend.
